For all the German anime fans out there, we have a big surprise and honour: we are celebrating the world premiere of the new anime series "A Playthrough of a Certain Dude's VRMMO Life"! It is with great excitement that we welcome the anime studio MAHO FILM to the Anime Messe Babelsberg 2023, which will take place from 21 to 23 July at Filmpark Babelsberg near Berlin.
Anime director Yuichi Nakazawa and anime producer Yuki Mukai will be there in person to present the anime as a world premiere during the Special Anime Panel on Saturday at 4 pm.
"A Playthrough of a Certain Dude's VRMMO Life", the new anime series which will start in October 2023 and is currently still in production, takes us into the story of Daichi, an ordinary employee with a penchant for PC games. His way of playing is anything but ordinary, however, as he often devotes himself to the most unusual skills and thus begins his own personal journey in the fantasy world of VRMMO.
In addition, we have the pleasure of gaining insights into the impressive careers of our guests. Director Yuichi Nakazawa will demonstrate his skills as an anime artist live on Sunday at 1pm, while producer Yuki Mukai will already give us fascinating insights into the production process on Friday at 2:20pm.
You can also look forward to another screening of the first two episodes of the new series on Sunday at 3:30 pm in the big anime cinema. And as an additional highlight, an exhibition of visual material from the series awaits you. Yuichi Nakazawa is an anime artist at Anime R and a member of JAniCA (Japanese Animation Creators Association). From anime artist to animation director as well as episode director, he has made his career in the anime industry for about 30 years and "A Playthrough of a Certain Dude's VRMMO Life" was his first time directing. He has acted in numerous anime series, such as "Detective Conan", "HUNTER X HUNTER", "Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei" (animation director), "My Hero Academia", "Bungo Stray Dogs", "The Mystic Archives of Dantalian" (episode director), "Sorcerous Stabber Orphen", as well as anime films, such as "Fate/stay night UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS" (2010), "Naruto Shippuuden: The Lost Tower" (2010), "One Piece Film Gold" (2016), "Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale" (2017), "Detective Conan Movie 22: Zero the Enforcer" (2018) and "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal" (2021).
Yuki Mukai was born in 1992 and is an animation producer at MAHO FILM. He has worked on "In Another World With My Smartphone", "I'm Standing on a Million Lives", "I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss" and "By the Grace of the Gods".
